I started thrifting for fun when we spent some time down in Florida and my love for it has grown since. Now every time I'm in a new location, I find myself looking up local thrift stores excited by what I could find for a couple of dollars.
*Below are some of my favorite places I've thrifted / antiqued and I will continue to add to this list!
Florida Thrifting
I did some exploring and thrifting around Florida while we were down there and it was a lot of fun. One of my favorite spots was Oddballs Nifty Thrift Store in Ft Lauderdale (located at 530 NE 13th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304). I found some fun frames, glasses for our bar cart and other glassware.
Raleigh Thrifting
We spent a weekend in Raleigh, NC on our drive back up to NY. In the Warehouse District, we came across Father & Son thrift store, which Is an absolutely must-go if you're in the area. One of my favorite things that we found was this Playboy magazine with Marilyn Monroe on the cover. As far as consignments go, I stumbled across Raleigh Vintage and it was the loveliest store ever. I ended up purchasing a vintage Ralph Lauren jean button down and a 1980s vintage Burberry coat.
Poughkeepsie Thrifting
We were in Poughkeepsie for a wedding and I had a day to explore. Of course I looked up thrift and antique stores throughout the area and I ended up finding a couple of votives and glassware between $1 and $3.
I also found the vase above for $1 and wanted to paint the scalloped part. I ended up painting the rim in a gold color since there's accents of gold sprinkled throughout the apartment. It was such a fun and easy project and super affordable too.
Seattle Thrifting
We stopped in a small town on our way back to Seattle and I found a cute gold-rimmed mirror that I brought up to the lake house (pictured above).
Hamptons Thrifting
I've gone to a few thrift stops at the Hamptons (in the Hampton Bays area) and below are some of my favorite spots:
